Ski in Bad Kleinkirchheim, sleep by the lake
Bad Kleinkirchheim is the largest ski area nearby: 103 kilometres of piste, 24 lifts, open from 4 December 2026 to 29 March 2027. Berghaus Seeblick is a quarter of an hour away in Feld am See, on the Brennsee. You ski in Bad Kleinkirchheim and sleep in an apartment with its own kitchen, a heated ski room downstairs and a parking space at the door.
Why Feld am See and not the ski village
Feld am See is a village by a lake, not a ski village. It is quiet in the evening, you park at the door, and you have an apartment of 40 to 86 m² with a full kitchen instead of a room. The piste is a quarter of an hour away. If you ski for a week and do not want to stand in the après-ski every night, that is the better side of the quarter hour.
Getting to the piste
By car: 12.5 kilometres along the B98 to the Kaiserburgbahn in Zirkitzen, about 15 minutes, with car parks at the valley stations. Without a car: the Ski-Express runs from Feld am See to the ski area and is free for our guests; you get the tickets from us or from the tourist office. Last season it ran from 21 December to 6 April; we will add the 2026/27 dates here as soon as they are published. In Bad Kleinkirchheim itself the free Ski-Thermen-Bus links the five valley stations and the Thermal Römerbad, every 15 minutes in high season.
The ski area
103 kilometres of piste: 18 km blue, 77 km red and 8 km black, up to 2,055 metres, 97 per cent covered by snow-making. The area has two parts, Bad Kleinkirchheim and St. Oswald, linked over the mountain. Lifts run from 9 am to 4 pm. It is an area for skiers who want long red runs; beginners and families have the practice slopes in the valley and at St. Oswald.
After skiing
The Thermal Römerbad is next to the Kaiserburgbahn and is open until 9 pm in winter. A day ticket with sauna costs € 63. The Therme St. Kathrein is the family bath, with an 86-metre slide. Both are on our thermal-baths page with prices and hours.
The next morning
Downstairs your kit waits in the heated ski room: skis in the rack, boots warm and dry. You order bread rolls the evening before and they are at your door in the morning. From the breakfast table to the valley station is a quarter of an hour.

Can I hire skis in Feld am See?+
The village has the ski hire shop Die Zwei, next to the Brennseehof. There are also hire shops at the valley stations in Bad Kleinkirchheim.

From 4 December 2026 to 29 March 2027, daily from 9 am to 4 pm.
Is there a second ski area nearby?+
Yes, the Gerlitzen via Klösterle near Arriach in about 20 minutes, and the Turracher Höhe in about 40 minutes. With the Kärntner Skipass you ski all three.

Three apartments, a quarter of an hour from the piste
